About Safe Kids Guilford County
Safe Kids Guilford County is the local coalition dedicated to protecting children 0-14 from preventable injuries—the number one cause of death to children in the U.S. We are proud to be the Guilford County coalition of Safe Kids North Carolina, the state coalition of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global organization focused on preventing these devastating injuries. Led by Cone Health, we bring together health and safety experts, businesses, first responders, volunteers, and community organizations to implement data-driven, evidence-based programs right here in our community.
What We Do
We work to reduce child injury risks at home, at play, and on the way by focusing on core safety areas, including:

Bike Safety: Promoting helmet use and safe biking practices

Child Passenger Safety: Providing car seat checks and safety workshops to ensure kids are riding safely

Firearm Safety: Promoting safe storage and providing gun locks

Home Safety: Addressing risks like falls, poisoning, and gun safety with education for parents and caregivers

Safe Sleep: Promoting safe sleep and awareness of sudden unexpected infant death (SUID) and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)

Water Safety: Addressing water safety through education for parents and caregivers
