My High 5: five safety actions you can do today

Updated: Feb 26, 2019

  1. Learn to use your child's car seat the right way.

  2. Make sure your child has a helmet and wears it every single time during wheeled sports.

  3. Make sure you have a working smoke alarm and a carbon monoxide alarm on every level of your home, and in all sleeping areas.

  4. Teach kids to look left, right and left again before crossing the street. Then remind them to continue looking until safely across.

  5. Save the toll-free Poison Help Line Number in your phone: 1-800-222-1222. This free, 24-hour hotline can help with everything from simple questions to serious emergencies.
