Pediatric Teaching Program: Conferences and Grand Rounds
Pediatric Noon Conferences
Led by Pediatric Teaching Program faculty and local pediatric specialists, these daily lunch-time conferences cover a variety of general pediatric topics. All rotating residents and medical students should attend.
Primary Care Track Seminars
Primary Care Track residents participate in monthly small-group half-day afternoon seminars to explore primary care topics in depth, practice clinical skills, and engage with the simulation lab.
Additional Learning Opportunities
Residents also take part in a monthly journal club emphasizing evidence-based, cost-effective pediatric care. Primary Care Residents complete one group quality improvement project over the three years and also an advocacy project. Past initiatives include housing remediation for asthma patients (supported by an AAP CATCH grant) and implementation of a sickle cell functional pain score.

Pediatric Grand Rounds
Pediatric Grand Rounds are held every Wednesday from 8:30–9:30 a.m., on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Sessions are held in person at Moses Cone Hospital, with virtual attendance also available.
Each week, we welcome speakers from across the region, including specialists and faculty from Cone Health, UNC Health, Duke Health, and Atrium Health, along with valued community partners. Presentations cover a wide range of pediatric care, clinical practice, and community health topics.
Our audience includes outpatient pediatricians, pediatric hospitalists, pediatric specialists, neonatologists, family medicine and pediatric residents, medical students, and members of the broader care team such as nurses, therapists, dietitians, and community partners.
Attendance is required for all residents and medical students currently on rotation.
We encourage new voices and perspectives. Providers and community partners interested in contributing to Pediatric Grand Rounds are invited to reach out.
