Dr. Nicole Bailey Burwell is a nationally recognized physician assistant leader, educator, and scholar with more than 20 years of clinical experience and a distinguished record of academic leadership. As the founding PA Program Director, Chair, and Tenured Professor at North Carolina A&T State University, she successfully led program development, accreditation, faculty advancement, and workforce initiatives that expanded opportunities for future healthcare professionals. A former President of the PA Education Association and Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates, Dr. Burwell has earned national recognition for her contributions to physician assistant education, diversity and inclusion initiatives, curriculum innovation, and workforce development. Her extensive portfolio of peer-reviewed publications, funded research, and national presentations, combined with leadership roles at Stanford University, Howard University, and George Washington University, positions her as a transformative leader who bridges academic excellence with clinical operations to advance the future of advanced practice providers.
Erin Raspet brings exceptional clinical, operational, and academic expertise to her role as Assistant Director for the Institute for Advanced Practice’s Ambulatory Fellowship Tracks. In her previous role as Chief Advanced Practice Provider for Cone Health Urgent Care, she oversaw more than 30 APPs and has led initiatives focused on provider onboarding, retention, engagement, evidence-based practice, and process improvement. In addition to maintaining an active urgent care practice, she has contributed significantly to APP education through adjunct faculty appointments, curriculum development, clinical instruction, and student mentorship. Erin’s scholarly accomplishments include peer-reviewed publications and presentations on telehealth, healthcare delivery, and clinical practice improvement. Her leadership extends across the organization through her service as Co-Chair of the APP Council and her work promoting evidence-based medicine. With advanced degrees in medical science, healthcare management, and ongoing MBA studies, she exemplifies commitment to innovation, professional development, and advancing excellence in ambulatory advanced practice care.
Katy Foust is a highly accomplished advanced practice leader whose career reflects excellence in clinical care, academic leadership, healthcare operations, and workforce development. Currently serving as both Assistant Professor of Nursing at Winston-Salem State University and APP Coordinator for Cone Health, she combines active clinical practice with a passion for educating and mentoring future healthcare professionals. Her extensive academic credentials include doctoral preparation in nursing practice, graduate degrees in business administration and healthcare administration, and dual board certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Katy has led curriculum redesign initiatives, developed innovative educational programs, and taught graduate-level nursing courses while maintaining expertise across hospital medicine, behavioral health, emergency medicine, critical care, and nursing administration. Her proven leadership in healthcare operations, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient throughput management, and workforce support makes her uniquely qualified to advance acute care fellowship training and strengthen the development of advanced practice providers across the organization.
With more than a decade of graduate medical education administration experience and nearly two decades of operational leadership, Anjie has lead residency program operations, ensuring ACGME accreditation compliance, strengthening recruitment and retention through innovative outreach and coordinated candidate experiences, managing fiscal and operational performance, and overseeing major educational and organizational events that enhanced learner and faculty engagement. She has successfully partnered with institutional and physician leadership, developed compliance dashboards and reporting processes, and built collaborative environments that supported successful residency outcomes. Her nationally recognized C-TAGME credential, combined with her extensive leadership in program administration, regulatory oversight, and workforce development, reflects a career marked by operational excellence, strategic growth, and a deep commitment to advancing education and professional development.
