I’m Rusty, and I’ve been a part of Cone Health for over two decades and am currently the Lead EMT. My journey into Emergency Medical Services (EMS) began with an unexpected source of inspiration—boy scouting. The values of service ingrained in me during those scouting days led me to pursue a career where I could make a difference in people’s lives, especially during their most challenging moments. 
 
There’s an indescribable satisfaction in knowing that on someone’s worst day, I could be the difference that turns their day around. Working alongside a dedicated team of professionals at Cone Health, I’ve come to realize that EMS is a calling to care, to support, and to make a positive impact no matter the circumstances. 

We’re not just colleagues here at Cone Health; we’re a tight-knit unit that looks out for one another and for our patients. Cone Health stands by its employees, supports them through thick and thin, and extends that same level of care to every patient who walks through our doors.
