Lead Teacher & Non-Clinical Sitter

When the place I’d worked at for 17 years closed its doors, I realized I had an opportunity to follow my true calling — teaching children. I pursued my education in early childhood, and now, I’m a lead teacher at Cone Health’s Childcare Center and a non-clinical caregiver within the Cone Health system.

As a non-clinical sitter, I have the privilege of sitting with psychiatric patients, ensuring their safety and meeting their needs while in our care. It is incredibly rewarding when I can make a positive impact on their lives, whether it’s through a simple conversation or offering words of encouragement.
