Becky E.
Registered Nurse

I’ve been part of the Cone Health family for the past 14 months, but my journey into the health care field actually began 24 years ago when I found myself as a patient here. I was struggling with severe shortness of breath. After visiting two doctors that week who couldn’t identify the problem, I turned to Cone Health. It was here that they discovered an issue with my heart that they were able to treat. That experience was life-changing, not only because it saved my life but because it started a desire in me to become a patient advocate.
One of the aspects I most cherish about working at Cone Health as a registered nurse is the strong connection I feel to my community. I don’t just work here; I live here. I am an integral part of the community I live in through the work that I do, providing care to my neighbors and friends when they need it most. When people are in the hospital, it’s often one of the most stressful and challenging times in their lives. Being able to offer them comfort and care during such moments is something I hold close to my heart.
Walking into a patient’s room, addressing their needs and making them feel valued gives me a sense of purpose. This job is not just about administering treatments or following protocols; it’s about being there for people when they need it most.
