The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of CSL112, a novel IV formulation of purified apoA-I, the dominant protein in HDL cholesterol, and is believed to bring about beneficial effects by reversing cholesterol transport. This is a phase 3 multicenter study of nearly 20,000 patients immediately following a heart attack to evaluate the efficacy and safety of CSL112 on reducing the risk of cardiovascular death, heart attack, and stroke in patients at high risk of early recurrent cardiac events.
